AMAM/Frank Lloyd Wright House “Moving-In Day” Celebration

The Allen Memorial Art Museum has announced the second “Moving–In Day” event at Oberlin College’s Weltzheimer/Johnson House on Saturday, April 5, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event marks the 59th Anniversary of the day the Weltzheimer family moved into their new, but still unfinished, house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Philippe Faraut will be teaching his clay portrait-sculpting seminar at PAA on May 16-18, 2008. This workshop includes lectures on anatomy, emphasizing bone structure and discussions on expression and ethnic differences. Three days of intensive work are spent sculpting a head in water-based clay with step-by-step instruction. Cost for the three-day seminar is $475 or $425 for PAA Members.  register here

Jam and Open Mike at PAA –every fourth Saturday from 7-11pm (or later!)  Walk-ins welcome, no charge.  An informal open mike jam for all levels of musicians interested in playing and learning the blues.  Bring your equipment (electric and/or acoustic instruments: guitars, harps, bass, etc) and join in, or sit back, bring your own food and drink, or something to share it you like, browse the gallery exhibits and enjoy the music.  In collaboration with local musician Matt Lerner and their friends from www.openmicmusic.org


FolkNite at PAA

It’s time once again for our monthly Folk and Folk-Rock Jam.  We’ll sing and play covers AND originals–whatever participants want. Do you play, sing or just love to listen?  We’ve been lucky enough to have a sound system available so far–and we’re likely to have it available again. Bring an instrument, your voice, your ears…come early, come late, stay short or long–whatever makes you happy! Amps, mics, cables, stands, etc., are optional but always appreciated.
