If All Else Fails – A solo exhibition by Steve Ehret
April 3, 2008Seeking the solace of nightfall, Steve Ehret paints canvases filled with phantasmal creatures and landscapes. Spindly characters and shadowy trees evoke a feeling of eeriness and paranoia. Dual in nature, these muted monsters expose their truths and deceptions vividly in dreamlike ambience, suspicious of who is lurking behind and what agenda they possess.
Artists revisit Cleveland’s oldest and largest alternative art space to celebrate 30 years of creative innovation
April 3, 2008
SPACES celebrates 30 years in 2008, distinguishing the organization as one of the longest-lived alternative art spaces in the United States. William Busta, Cleveland gallerist and cultural historian, curates the anniversary exhibition, titled Living in Your Imagination. The exhibition will address a persistent theme in contemporary art—how artists mix personal and public identity as they respond to the spaces in which they exist. An opening reception for Living in Your Imagination will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 6pm. The exhibition runs through July 6, 2008.
